What I wish I knew before my first credit card

When I got my first credit card, I had no idea how fast small mistakes could stack up. I was swiping left and right thinking I was building credit — when I was really hurting it. 😭

If you’re just starting out, here’s what I wish I knew sooner:

• Every “hard pull” hits your score — stop applying for everything you see.

• One late payment can follow you for years, so automate them early.

• Credit utilization matters — don’t max your card thinking paying it off fixes it.

• Your first card? That’s your foundation. Don’t close it when you upgrade.

Learning this early would’ve saved me from losing 20+ points for no reason. Save this post for when you open your first card 💸
