เมื่อผมตัดสินใจผ่าตัดทอนซิลนั้นเป็นทางเลือกที่ช่วยให้ชีวิตดีขึ้นจริงๆ เพราะอาการทอนซิลอักเสบเรื้อรังที่เป็นมานาน ส่งผลกระทบต่อการทำงานและคุณภาพชีวิตอย่างมาก ผมมีอาการเจ็บคอบ่อยจนต้องหยุดงานเกือบทุกเดือน และเคยกังวลว่าการผ่าตัดจะเจ็บมากแค่ไหน บางคนเล่าเรื่องแย่ๆ ที่ทำให้ลังเล ในวันผ่าตัด แม้ว่าจะรู้สึกกังวล แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้ผมอุ่นใจคือตัวเลือกใช้สิทธิ์ประกันสังคมที่ช่วยลดภาระค่าใช้จ่ายได้เยอะ ในโรงพยาบาลรัฐที่ผมเข้ารับการผ่า ทีมแพทย์และพยาบาลดูแลอย่างใกล้ชิด หลังผ่าเพียงวันแรกเจ็บคอมาก ๆ แต่พยาบาลแนะนำให้ทานไอศกรีมและน้ำแดงใส่ไซริงค์ ซึ่งช่วยลดความเจ็บและช่วยให้แผลหายเร็วขึ้นจริงๆ ช่วง 3 วันแรกหลังผ่าตัด ผมพยายามกินเครื่องดื่มเย็นและไอศกรีมตลอดๆ เพราะมันจะให้ความชุ่มชื้นและลดการหดรัดของเนื้อเยื่อในคอที่บาดเจ็บ ทำให้รู้สึกดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ และหลังผ่านไปเพียง 3 วัน ผมหิวและกลับมากินอาหารปกติได้อย่างรวดเร็ว จากประสบการณ์นี้ ผมอยากแนะนำว่า หากมีอาการทอนซิลอักเสบเรื้อรังหรือเป็นบ่อยจนรบกวนชีวิต การผ่าตัดทอนซิลถือเป็นทางเลือกที่ควรพิจารณา ไม่จำเป็นต้องกลัวนัก เนื่องจากศัลยแพทย์และบุคลากรทางการแพทย์จะอธิบายขั้นตอนและดูแลอย่างปลอดภัย และที่สำคัญสำหรับผู้ที่มีสิทธิ์ประกันสังคม การใช้สิทธินี้ช่วยลดภาระค่าใช้จ่ายลงมากทีเดียว แถมยังได้พักฟื้นและนอนในโรงพยาบาลอย่างเหมาะสมอีกด้วย สรุปว่าผ่าทอนซิลอักเสบเป็นการตัดสินใจที่คุ้มค่าอย่างยิ่ง เพราะหลังผ่าผมแทบไม่เคยป่วยอีกเลย และร่างกายแข็งแรงขึ้นมากกว่าที่เคยเป็นมา
