Graduated beauty school in September of 2005.
Left the industry in 2014, came back in 2020
Entering the beauty industry in 2005 was an exciting start to my career. After graduating from beauty school, I spent several years honing my craft, especially focusing on special effects makeup. Achieving proficiency in this niche takes patience and persistence—it actually took me six years to reach my skill level, but the journey felt much longer, closer to twenty years in terms of dedication and learning from real experiences. In 2014, I decided to leave the industry temporarily. This break allowed me to reflect on my skills and passion. When I returned in 2020, I brought with me not only past experiences but also a fresh perspective influenced by new trends and techniques in beauty and salon work. The industry had evolved, but fundamentals like precision, creativity, and client trust remained essential. Special effects makeup, in particular, is demanding but rewarding. It's an art that transforms faces and tells stories, requiring patience and skill development over many years. This field is highly competitive, and being recognized among the top 50 special effects makeup artists is a testament to continuous learning and commitment. If you're considering a career in beauty or thinking about a comeback, remember it’s never too late. Growth can be non-linear, and time away can offer valuable insights. Embrace the challenges, stay updated, and keep practicing to achieve your unique style and success in this ever-changing industry.
