My grandmother was my biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader—someone whose love felt unconditional and unwavering. She was not only a figure of faith and comfort but also an amazing cook who poured her heart into every meal. The day she passed, I felt as if time stood still; my world paused, and my heart has carried that void ever since. If Heaven had a phone, like I often imagine, I would want to call her to hear her wisdom once more, to share the urgency of everyday life, and to seek comfort in her familiar voice. Sometimes, the best thing we can say is simply "I miss you," and yet that phrase carries the weight of all the unsaid emotions and memories. Grieving is a journey unique to each person, but for me, embracing faith has been a pillar that sustains me. Remembering her love and the lessons she imparted helps me see her spirit remains alive in the ways I live and love. It’s in the prayers we shared and the kindness she spread. Whenever I face a moment of doubt or sadness, recalling her heart-on-her-sleeve personality provides strength and perspective. To anyone navigating loss, I encourage creating rituals or personal moments of connection that bring solace—whether that’s lighting a candle, saying a prayer, or simply cherishing memories through stories and photographs. It’s these acts that nurture healing and keep the bond alive, even across time and space.
