I wish I had known this before getting my washer

💸 When your washer gives up after just 3 years…

I honestly didn’t expect this. Bought a Samsung washer thinking it would last at least 5–7 years… but here we are at around the 3-year mark and it’s already breaking down 😩

🚨 Issues I faced:

• Water leakage (started small… then got worse)

• Repair to fix water leakage didn’t last even though it costed us >$200

• Stops washing in the middle of a cycle

At first I thought maybe it was just bad luck, but after checking around, seems like I’m not the only one facing this…a rather known issue with Samsung washers actually..

💭 My thoughts:

I really liked the design and features at the start, but durability is a big deal for home appliances. A washer isn’t something you expect to replace every few years.

📌 Lesson learned: Sometimes Googling for reviews on forums etc may be more reliable than being influenced by influencers. In fact, note what AI has summarised --> it failed to mention Samsung as a good brand (see image).

Although Samsung offers advanced features, durability seems inconsistent, as many users report leaks and operational failures around the 3-year mark. When researching models, I found that brands like LG, Bosch, and Electrolux often receive higher marks for long-term reliability and build quality. I also noticed that Speed Queen is frequently recommended for heavy-duty use, implying that if your household demands frequent laundry cycles, investing in a sturdier brand might save you money and hassle over time. One lesson I learned is not to rely solely on influencer opinions or AI summaries when selecting appliances. Instead, comb through customer reviews on forums and trusted consumer sites to gauge real-world performance. The OCR content from washing machine reviews emphasized that while Samsung is well-known, it's less highlighted for reliability compared to LG and Bosch. In my opinion, considering long-term satisfaction is crucial. Expecting a washer to work well beyond 5 years is reasonable, so durability should be a major factor in your purchase decision. I hope sharing these insights helps you avoid the disappointment I faced and make a more informed choice about your next washing machine.
