Planning a beach holiday in the South of France? It's truly a dream come true! Having just experienced it, I wanted to share some extra tips to make your trip unforgettable. Beyond just soaking up the sun, there's so much to explore along the French Riviera. First off, choosing your base. While Nice offers a vibrant city atmosphere with direct access to pebble beaches, don't miss exploring some of the smaller, picturesque towns. Èze, mentioned in the original post, isn't directly on the beach but offers stunning panoramic views that are a must-see, and you can easily venture down to Eze-sur-Mer for a quieter beach experience. Saint-Tropez, of course, is iconic for its glamorous Pampelonne Beach – perfect for people-watching and enjoying chic beach clubs. But for a more local feel, try Plage de l'Escalet, a beautiful, wilder cove nearby. When it comes to what to do, don't limit yourself to just sunbathing! Many beaches offer water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, or even jet-skiing. I loved renting a small boat to explore hidden coves along the coastline – it gives you a completely different perspective of the famous French Riviera. Even simple things like a morning walk along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice or an evening picnic on the sand watching the sunset are incredibly memorable. Packing essentials for a South of France beach holiday include reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, comfortable sandals, and a stylish cover-up. If you plan on exploring some of the rocky coves, water shoes are a lifesaver! And trust me, you'll want a good camera (my iPhone 15 Pro did wonders!) to capture all the beauty. Food-wise, you absolutely must try fresh seafood, Salade Niçoise, and of course, plenty of rosé wine. Many beachside restaurants offer delicious, fresh catches of the day. Don't be afraid to venture a little off the main tourist paths to find charming local eateries. Getting around is relatively easy. The train line connects many coastal towns, making day trips from Nice to places like Cannes or Monaco very convenient. For exploring the smaller villages or more secluded beaches, renting a car gives you maximum flexibility. Just be aware of parking, especially during peak summer months! A holidays France beach trip is all about embracing the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle. Take your time, savor the moments, and let the beauty of THE SOUTH OF FRANCE wash over you. It's truly a magical place for a Euro summer.
