2011 scene kid make up

OMG, you guys, I just had the most epic throwback session! I spent the afternoon diving deep into my old makeup photos and decided it was high time to recreate my signature 2011 scene kid makeup look. Seriously, it was like stepping into a time machine to 2011-2013! If you were rocking the scenecore makeup vibe back then, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s all about bold statements, right? First things first: the scene kid eyeliner. This is non-negotiable, the absolute centerpiece of the entire look. Back then, I swore by a super black liquid eyeliner for the sharpest wing and a kohl pencil for the lower waterline. To recreate my make up from that era, I started with a thick, dramatic winged liner, extending it quite far out and slightly down to give that signature edgy, almost sad-eye effect. Don't be afraid to go bold here! For the lower lash line, I heavily lined both the waterline and just below the lashes with black kohl, sometimes even smudging it out a tiny bit for a smokier, more intense gaze. Some days, I’d even add a tiny dip in the inner corner, connecting to the upper lash line. It's all about that intense, wide-eyed but slightly melancholic look. Next up, eyeshadow! While dark eyeliner was king, our 2011 makeup looks were incomplete without some vibrant pops of color. I remember pairing my black liner with neon pinks, electric blues, or bright greens on the lid, usually blended with a darker, smoky grey or black in the crease and outer V. For my recreation, I used a matte black shadow in the outer corner, blending it inwards, and then packed a vibrant teal shimmer onto the center of the lid. It really brought back those scene makeup 2000s vibes! Don't forget a touch of shimmery white or silver in the inner corner to really make your eyes pop. My base was always pretty simple: a matte, slightly paler-than-my-natural-skin foundation, because that was the aesthetic. I kept contour minimal, maybe just a touch of cool-toned blush or bronzer if I was feeling fancy. Brows were usually thin and defined, but not overly sculpted – definitely different from today's brow trends! For lips, it was all about keeping it understated to let the eyes shine. Think nude glosses, pale pinks, or sometimes even a touch of concealer to completely wash them out. I opted for a light pink lip gloss for this recreation, just like I would have chosen back in 2011-2013. Putting this look together for my post, it was such a trip down memory lane.
