• 🪽after unexpectedly losing my dad last year

i’ve made it my mission to make my home my

sanctuary & safe space 🤍🧿 losing him has been a devastating journey - & destroyed my feeling of safety & security. - although i will be grieving him the rest of my life, i needed to make sure my space gave me a feeling of calmness as i continue to grieve & work on my souls healing

✨ for now i have an alter for my dad in my fireplace - it makes me feel close to him

✨lighting is a big one for me - i’ve never been big on lamps lol - soft vibe lighting makes me feel calm

✨ candles, crystals & sage are a MUST (im a spiritual girly 🧚🏼‍♂️)

✨my colors are pink, gray & a touch of white

pink makes me think of love & has always been my favorite color

💗 sharing my space for those who may be going through the same or would just like some inspo 💗

Many people find that turning their home into a sanctuary can be a powerful step in coping with grief and rebuilding a sense of peace. One effective way to personalize your healing space is by creating a dedicated altar or memorial. Placing photos, meaningful objects, or candles in a special area such as a fireplace can keep your loved one’s memory present in your daily life. This tangible connection often provides comfort and a focal point for reflection. Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the right mood in a healing home. Instead of harsh overhead lights, opt for soft, warm lighting using lamps or fairy lights. This gentle illumination creates a calming atmosphere that helps reduce stress and anxiety. Incorporating natural elements like crystals, candles, and sage can also support spiritual and emotional healing. These items invite peace and mindfulness, making your space feel grounding and sacred. Color choices are another important consideration. Soft colors like pink, gray, and white evoke feelings of love, calm, and purity, creating a soothing visual environment. Pink, associated with love and compassion, can be especially comforting in a grief sanctuary. Finally, remember that your sanctuary is deeply personal and unique to your journey. Whether you’re grieving or simply seeking tranquility, designing a safe space tailored to your needs can nurture your soul and aid in healing over time. Sharing your experience and home transformation can inspire others facing similar challenges, fostering a supportive community dedicated to life after loss.
