Unfortunately very disappointed from instacart they don’t care about the shoppers so sad
As someone who has relied on Instacart for income since early 2023, I was shocked and disheartened when my account was suddenly deactivated. The email I received claimed probable fraudulent activity, but I have always maintained professionalism and integrity while working as a shopper. My cancellation rate was only 9%, which is well within acceptable limits, and I never engaged in any actions that would compromise my account. The appeal process was especially disappointing. Despite providing reasons to support my case, Instacart denied my appeal without clear explanation. This lack of transparency and communication left me feeling undervalued as a shopper. It highlights a common issue that many gig economy workers face: limited recourse and support when platform algorithms or automated systems flag activity incorrectly. I share this experience to caution others to keep detailed records of their work and communications. It’s also a reminder to platforms like Instacart that shoppers depend on these accounts to earn a living and deserve fair treatment and clearer appeals processes. If you’re a fellow shopper or considering joining Instacart, be aware that deactivation can happen abruptly and appeals may be difficult to win even if you followed all rules.
