back to school thrifting!

I went to the thrift store today and got a couple things! it was half off everything in the store which was awesome, but it was really crowded and picked over so I didn’t find as much as I’d hoped

🩳 I’ve been loving men’s athletic shorts with a 5 inch inseam lately! when I’m wearing a backpack shorter shorts tend to ride up really bad, so I like to wear longer ones, but I can never find any good women’s shorts!

👙I pretty much only wear sports bras, but racerbacks don’t always work with tank tops or smaller shirts so Im always looking for comfy bras with straight straps

very excited about my haul even though it is little!

Not only is it incredibly budget-friendly, but it's also a fantastic way to discover unique pieces and give clothes a second life, which is a win for your wallet and the planet. I absolutely love the thrill of the hunt, especially when it comes to back-to-school shopping. While my recent trip was a bit picked over, I still managed to find some amazing pieces that prove thrifting is worth it. For instance, finding comfortable and practical athletic wear is crucial for school. I was so excited to grab those *rust-colored athletic running shorts*! They have a great 5-inch inseam, which is perfect because I’ve noticed shorter shorts tend to ride up when I'm carrying my backpack. Plus, these even have a cool white logo on the leg and a handy zippered pocket on the waistband – perfect for stashing keys or cash when I’m on the go. Another must-have for me is comfortable undergarments. I practically live in sports bras, but finding ones with straight straps that work with different tank tops can be tough. So, when I found that light yellow ribbed bralette with thin straps and a *black elastic band featuring HANES*, I knew it was coming home with me. It even has a delicate single hook-and-eye clasp at the back, which is a nice detail. It’s these little finds that make thrifting so rewarding! If you’re planning your own back-to-school thrift haul, here are a few tips I swear by. First, go with an open mind. You might not find exactly what’s on your list, but you’ll often discover something even better! Second, don't be afraid to check different sections. As I mentioned, I often look in the men's section for shorts or oversized shirts. You never know what gems are hiding. Third, always check the quality of the items – look for stains, tears, or broken zippers, but don't shy away from minor fixes if you're a little handy. When it comes to kids' thrift fashion trends for the school season (and by kids, I mean students of all ages!), versatile basics are always in style. Think classic denim jeans, oversized sweaters, graphic tees, and utility jackets. These pieces can be mixed and matched to create endless outfits. Don't forget about accessories too! Scarves, belts, and even backpacks can be found at thrift stores, helping you personalize your look without spending a fortune. Imagine walking out with a white plastic shopping bag filled with stylish finds, knowing you saved money and helped the environment. It’s a win-win! So, next time you're thinking about your back-to-school wardrobe, consider hitting up your local thrift store. It's an adventure that can lead to incredible finds and a truly unique, budget-friendly style that sets you apart.
