Located in Pelikha Village, Kyauk Tan, near Yangon, the temple is considered one of Myanmar's major Hindu temples, built since 1862 and remains the faith center of the Tamil community to the present day.

He is a deity that South Indians believe is a part of Shiva, or a deity that Shiva created to protect people, serve as a "guardian deity," protecting communities, traveling, and preventing evil things, especially at night.
According to the legend that has been told, it is linked to the events of the sacrificial ceremony of the king, when the goddess was upset and gave his life, and Shiva was very angry and created a god to destroy the ceremony and protect the right. One of the gods was "Muni Shiva."
