Hey Jevas! You read in my intro that I've been on a major wellness journey, losing over 80lbs. But I wanted to dive a little deeper into what that truly means, especially as a Boricua woman facing challenges like PCOS. It's not just about the numbers on the scale; it's about reclaiming my body, my health, and finding genuine *bikini confidence*! For years, PCOS made me feel like my body was working against me. The weight gain, the hormonal imbalances – it felt like a constant uphill battle. I remember feeling so self-conscious, always trying to cover up, dreading beach days. But I decided enough was enough. My journey started with small, consistent changes. I focused on understanding my body, not punishing it. This meant exploring new ways to eat that supported my hormones – cutting back on processed foods, increasing whole foods, and really listening to what made my body feel good. I also found joy in movement; it wasn't just about burning calories, but about feeling strong and energized. Whether it was swimming in a vibrant blue patterned swimsuit by the ocean or getting active outdoors in my athletic wear, movement became a celebration, not a chore. One of the biggest shifts for me was mental. I realized that confidence isn't something you find after you reach a certain size; it's something you build along the way. There were days I wanted to give up, but connecting with other women who understood my struggles kept me going. Seeing those images of myself now, embracing moments, whether it's in a blue patterned swimsuit by the ocean or simply enjoying a laugh with friends, reminds me of how far I've come. Every 'photodump' I share is a testament to embracing my journey, no matter where I am in the process. Finding bikini confidence for me wasn't just about the physical transformation. It was about appreciating my body for its strength, resilience, and all that it allows me to do. It's about putting on that checkered swimsuit and feeling comfortable, beautiful, and unapologetically myself, without worrying about what others might think. It's about celebrating every step, every small victory, like being able to hike comfortably or play with my cat without getting winded. If you're also on a journey with PCOS or any other health challenge, know that you're not alone. My biggest advice? Start small, be kind to yourself, and find a community that uplifts you. Don't compare your chapter one to someone else's chapter twenty. Focus on your own progress and celebrate every win, big or small. Lemon8 has already started to feel like that for me – a space where we can truly empower each other! What are your tips for staying motivated or finding joy in your wellness routine? Share your thoughts below, Jevas! Let's inspire each other to feel amazing in our own skin, whether we're rocking a swimsuit or our everyday comfy clothes.
