Red flags in salons

Erm 🫤

So yeah I got HARDsold (like damn hard I got cornered literally in a room with 2 salespeople to 1 me TWICEEEEE) and here’s the lessons I learnt… may be sharing more and more lessons like these because your girl fell for TWO frickin package hard selling 🪤traps🪤 IN A ROW SO NOW SHE GOTTA KEEEEEP GOIIINGGGG 😭😭😭//LEARNING 🤡🤡🤡

—————————

Class begins now!

First takeaway: don’t go into the ‘talking’ room with them

If they can do it once they can do it again. And again. And again. I gave the lady a chance and went into THE ROOM AGAIN. She said it was to share advice for my skin.

Nah it was to sell me packages 🤦‍♀️

Second takeaway: say no if they ask u if you have buy now pay later/credit card/money

If they fucking push you towards paying via installments after you say you don’t have the money now, RUNNNNNNNN cuz they are okay with seeing you go into DEBT 💸

when you spend with buy now pay later (BNPL) scheme you are going into DEBT. YOU HAVE SPENT MONEY YOULL NEED TO PAY BACK IN THE FUTURE

It doesn’t take a very good person to know that it’s not good to urge people to purchase with money they don’t have 😭

🤹‍♀️🤡🎪🎪🎪🤡 <- me being not just the clown but THE

ENTIREEEEEEE

!WORLD CLASS!

WORLD TOURING CIRQUE DE SOLEIL ELITE CIRCUS TYPE CLOWN if I ever trust a person from **** and ***** ******** again 😭

third takeaway: it’s not good if you’re confused during conversations

I asked one very simple question 3️⃣ times

“So what are the pros and cons of this treatment?”

Her answer always started with “I’ll be honest with you” and then came the crazy question dodging.

We chatted for 20 minutes.

She had a piece of paper that she wrote on and that I wanted her to write the pros and cons on.

Let me know if you can read the list of pros and cons on there ya :)

anyways I also rephrased my question and ONLY asked her what BENEFITS the treatment had. I gave her the benefit of the doubt cuz I was interested in the package lmao.

Sister pulled up a screen with videos while talking 🗣️the whole time. I thought she’d explain, finally… but… she just started talking about other stuff and didn’t answer the question?????

🛑 If you feel terrible, feel confused, and feel like you still have questions left just know that you’re NOT supposed to feel this way.

I say this as someone who does sales btw

Fourth takeaway: pretend/say you’re tired when doing treatment to avoid convo😴

There is a FINEEEEE LINE between talking and digging for personal information ℹ️

She went from asking about my flight delay and travels <- the latter is a question that makes one let their guard down. Because you’re recalling pleasant memories, which makes you happier, more relaxed and easier to manipulate…

I let my guard down.

The moment I did that, she pounced.

Lady went STRAIGHTEN to talking about my SKIN and telling me I had a lot of problems. Which… I know I have some issues. That was why I allowed her to lead the topic; I thought they’d have solutions for me.

Soooo I told her I wanted fast effective treatments to treat scarring and uneven skin tone

she said she has treatments that can help. I asked if they were effective immediately. She said it takes time as they would need to treat the deeper issues. I said I wanted fast effects. I’m open to aesthetics/plastic. she said she could ask another colleague who had experience working in aesthetics/plastic

Spoiler alert 🚨

The colleague worked in aesthetics 10 years agozzzz

Class over!

... Read moreFrom my experience, one key tip to avoid falling prey to hard selling tactics is to always stick to your financial boundaries. If a salesperson tries to push payment plans or installment options like BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) that you can't afford, be firm in declining. These schemes often lead to unexpected debt later on. Also, be wary of being taken into secluded rooms or pressured into long sales pitches. This is a common tactic to isolate you and wear you down until you agree. If you feel confused or overwhelmed by vague answers or dodged questions about the pros and cons of a treatment, don’t hesitate to walk away. Another lesson is to recognize manipulative conversation techniques. For example, salespeople might ask about your personal life, like travel plans, to lower your defenses and build false trust. Stay alert to these cues and keep the conversation focused on the products or services, not personal details. If you’re undergoing treatments and want to avoid extended pushy conversations, pretending to be tired or short on time can politely signal you want to end the chat. Ultimately, trusting your gut feeling is essential. If something feels off or if salespeople avoid answering your simple, direct questions, it's a red flag. Remember, good customer service respects your right to clear information and the option to say no without pressure. By sharing these lessons, I hope to help others recognize and avoid hard selling traps while maintaining confidence during purchases.
