Kratos rallying for Ragnarök 😤👀
The lead up to Ragnarök is so great 💯
Okay, Lemon8 fam, let's talk God of War Ragnarök! I absolutely adore this game, but can we all agree that some of those Svartalfheim puzzles can be real head-scratchers? I recently got stuck on the 'Forging Destiny' quest, specifically that infamous water puzzle in the Jarnsmida Pitmines that blocks your path to the giant hammer. It felt like an uphill battle, almost as challenging as Kratos rallying to take on Ragnarök itself! If you're tearing your hair out trying to figure out how to get that water flowing correctly, don't worry, I've got you covered. This guide will walk you through it step-by-step so you can get back to the epic saga of Kratos and Freya! First off, you'll encounter this puzzle while trying to free a giant hammer during the 'Forging Destiny' main quest. The primary goal is to redirect the water flow to power a mechanism that clears your path. You'll be dealing with a large waterwheel, a crane with an attached trolley, and several water troughs. The key to solving this is understanding how to precisely manipulate the water with your trusty Leviathan Axe. Here’s my breakdown of how I finally solved it, step-by-step: Initial Setup: When you first arrive at the puzzle area, you'll see a large stream of water flowing down. Your immediate objective is to move the large water trolley that's attached to the crane system. First Water Diversion: Look up and you'll spot a wooden mechanism that diverts the water. Throw your Leviathan Axe at it to temporarily freeze the water flowing into the main trough below the crane. This will stop the water from reaching the main waterwheel for a moment, giving you a window of opportunity. Moving the Trolley: With the water frozen, quickly run over to the crank handle located near the large crane. Interact with it to move the trolley. Your goal is to swing the trolley so it’s positioned directly over the other water trough that needs to be filled to activate a different mechanism. This usually means moving it to the far end of its track. Second Water Diversion & Filling the Trough: Once the trolley is accurately in position, recall your axe from the first diversion point. The water will start flowing again. Now, you need to freeze the new water flow temporarily. Look for another wooden mechanism that controls the water going into the trolley’s attached bucket. Throw your axe at this mechanism to freeze it. This action will cause the water from the main stream to now flow into the *trough that the trolley is positioned over*. Allow this trough to fill completely. You'll typically see the water level rise and hear distinct gears engaging as it fills. Activating the Second Mechanism: Once the trough is filled and the mechanism engages, a gate or lever should unlock. Recall your axe from the second diversion point. The water will resume its normal flow, but the mechanism you just activated should remain open, indicating success. Final Step: With the second mechanism activated, you should now be able to interact with a nearby wheel or crank that was previously inaccessible. Turn this crank to fully open the path forward, allowing you to proceed with the 'Forging Destiny' quest and finally get to that hammer! A quick tip from my experience: Sometimes the timing can be a bit tricky, especially when moving the trolley and recalling your axe. If the trolley moves back before you can redirect the water, don't get frustrated! Just reset your position and try again. The key is knowing exactly where to freeze the water and when to move the crane. It took me a few tries, but once I understood the sequence, it felt so satisfying! You've suffered enough from this puzzle, just like the realms have suffered enough from Odin's tyranny! You've got this, fellow Spartan!
