Attending the HBCU & Divine Nine Edition Sunday at Turners Chapel AME Church was truly uplifting. The event was more than just a church service; it was a celebration of history, culture, and community pride. The morning began with the church school at 8:45 am, followed by a powerful worship service at 10 am, where various Divine Nine organizations such as ΑΦΑ, ΔΣΕ, ΩΨΟ, ΖΦΙ, and ΣΓΡ proudly represented their roots. One of the standout moments was the Black Business Expo held immediately after the worship. It provided a fantastic platform for local entrepreneurs and supporters within the community to connect and celebrate Black-owned businesses. The energy was contagious, especially with the shoutout to the NC A&T Aggies, embodying the spirit of HBCU pride. This event reminded me of the importance of community gatherings that honor and uplift Black history and culture, encouraging attendees to embrace their heritage with pride. If you ever get the chance to visit Turners Chapel AME Church during such events, expect to be welcomed by a warm, vibrant atmosphere where faith and culture beautifully converge.
