my mental health story

it’s not often that i’m open with my true feelings and thoughts on the world but im always someone who preaches mental health and the importance of prioritizing yourself.

in 2022, i was diagnosed with major depressive disorder, panic disorder, and anxiety disorder. i was at the lowest point in my life and every day was a battle.

i struggled with addiction. i was smoking everyday multiple times a day as a way to cope with my thoughts. i was also on the verge of s**cide. but something in me told me that i had to keep going.

this last month, i finally made the decision to quit smoking and to be me again. i’m now 18 days sober and i finally feel like the brain fog is going away. i’m still fighting my own battles but im learning to have healthy coping mechanisms like going on walks, crying it out, exercising and more. it wasn’t an easy journey but i have to do it for me:)

Recent studies highlight the importance of community and shared experiences in healing, reinforcing the idea that no one should feel alone during their mental health journey. It's vital to remember that reaching out for help and embracing vulnerability can lead to significant positive changes in one’s life. As we continue to advocate for mental health awareness, let’s commit to creating safe spaces for dialogue, understanding, and healing.
