Remember, ducks are social creatures, so having more than one is usually recommended to prevent loneliness. Plus, they can be quite vocal, so prepare for some happy quacks and waddles around your garden! For those of us who prefer to admire them from afar, like I did, capturing their beauty through photography is incredibly rewarding. When I took this shot, I was super focused on getting the details just right. I was using my camera's Pro Video mode, which surprisingly offers fantastic control for stills too! I remember tweaking the settings: ISO at a low 25 to minimize noise and a shutter speed of 1/350 to freeze the subtle motion of the water and the duck. The HDR10+ feature truly helped bring out the vibrant green vegetation on the banks and the intricate textures of the dark foreground reeds, making the scene pop. Getting low to the ground and finding the perfect angle to frame the shot against that serene backdrop makes such a difference in the final image.
