Tropical Nights, Dinner Goals
Jet lag still hitting me hard after the trip, but I had to share this Hawaii Dinner Hit List with you all! From Japanese BBQ to Vietnamese fusion, from street-style eats to inventive fine dining—each spot has that unique island melting pot vibe.
(And yes, I’m working on the Lunch Hit List too—it’s coming soon!)
1️⃣ Senia (Pic 2)
Hidden in Chinatown, Senia is run by a dream team from Per Se & French Laundry. The tasting menu changes with the seasons—every course was a work of art.
(Full photo diary + review already up in my highlights!)
2️⃣ Han no Daidokoro / Kaka'ako (Pic 3)
Despite the Korean-sounding name, this is actually a high-end Japanese BBQ spot serving premium wagyu grilled over charcoal. It’s rumored to be the only A5 wagyu BBQ joint in Honolulu!
(Meat lovers, this one’s for you—I’ve got a full post on this gem too!)
3️⃣ The Pig and The Lady (Pic 4)
A family-run Vietnamese fusion place in a red-brick Chinatown building. Think industrial vibes meets bamboo lanterns. The menu isn’t traditional—it’s bold, playful, and full of surprises (lowkey giving molecular gastronomy).
4️⃣ Wasabi Bistro (Pic 5)
Stumbled upon this hidden gem on our first night without a reservation. Ended up being a 4.7-star experience! The seafood was insanely fresh—especially the tuna sashimi served on crispy shrimp chips.
So glad we walked in—had to share this underrated spot with you!
5️⃣ Side Street Inn (Pic 6)
For those who never feel full on vacation—this is your place. Massive portions of fried chicken, short ribs, and fried rice. No frills, all flavor. The owner’s only mission? To make sure you leave stuffed and happy.
