- Moka’s first beach trip 🌸🐚✨ -
Moka is a mix of a pitbull and American bulldog. We adopted her 5 years ago, and this past year, she was able to have her first beach trip. Because of her abusive past she isn’t friendly with other dogs, however she does love humans and is extremely friendly with kids, specially my little sister. Luckily there were not many dog encounters and when there was one, we were able to control Moka and she barely had any reactions so yay for that!!Moka enjoyed the roadtrip, specially the AC and Latin music, and took a long nap. When we arrived, Moka enjoyed the sandy texture and sunbathed for a bit before my mom walked her to the beach, she DID NOT enjoy the salty water, and she was in it for only less than 5 mins. After eating a nice hotdog, my sister hurried her furry friend in the sand, which Moka enjoyed! After I rescued her from my sister, we laid down together and sunbathed again. On our way home she wanted some ice cream but of course she didn’t get some. After such a busy day, Moka slept the whole way back home :)#MyPetDiary #lemon8challenge
Taking your dog to the beach can be an exciting yet challenging experience, especially for pets with past traumas. Moka, a rescued pitbull-American bulldog mix, had her first beach trip, illustrating how careful preparation can make a significant difference. When planning a beach outing, it's crucial to pack essentials such as food, water, sun protection, toys, and comfort items like a favorite blanket or bandana, which can help your pet feel safe. Moka was cushioned in her journey with packs of comfort items and dog-friendly snacks. It's beneficial to familiarize your dog with the beach environment before the trip, considering their feelings about water, sand, and other dogs. Moka's experience underlines the importance of monitoring your dog’s behavior during outdoor activities. Not every dog enjoys the water – like Moka, who experienced the salty seawater only briefly. Dogs can be sensitive to new textures and sensations, which is why Moka relished the sandy beach more than the water itself. Sun safety is paramount; be mindful of the risk of overheating and sunburn, especially for dogs with short coats. Providing plenty of shaded areas and ensuring your dog stays hydrated can help maintain their well-being. Idle moments under the sun, as Moka enjoyed, can lead to bonding time between your dog and family. By sharing Moka's story, pet owners can appreciate how to create safe and enjoyable adventures for their furry friends while respecting their unique personalities and past experiences. Each trip builds confidence, helping dogs adjust better to new situations and environments, enriching their lives and creating cherished memories.

She’s such a cutie!! I love dogs on the beach
