Funny part is I just received a call from my ex supervisor saying “ we had to terminate you” all while on maternity leave and showing proof of the state extending my leave for bonding time as I only had 6 weeks approved for delivering my son via c section. But every company is different and doesn’t guarantee they have to agree with that. Just goes to show you how these corporations don’t give a fck about you they will drop you like it’s nothing and have a new replacement before they even fire you 😂 tbh this was the best thing that could of happened I get to focus more on content creation and most importantly be here for all the new milestones of all my baby’s and get to be home with all my kids for now at least until I decide other wise. God works in mysterious ways 🤍 I’m a true believer of when one door closes another one opens .

... Read moreThe day that phone call came, telling me I was terminated while still on maternity leave, felt like a punch to the gut. Here I was, recovering from a C-section, trying to embrace the precious "bonding time" with my newborn, and suddenly, my entire professional world was collapsing. I remember the immediate shock, then a wave of anger. How could they do this, especially after the state had "approved my bonding time," which meant more time being extended with my baby? It felt incredibly unfair, like a betrayal. "SHE WAS MAD MAD," as the image's text perfectly captures my initial reaction. The injustice of it all was overwhelming. You spend years building a career, dedicating yourself to a company, and in a moment, when you're at your most vulnerable, they drop you like it's nothing. It really does go to show how many corporations prioritize their bottom line over the well-being of their employees, particularly new mothers. My mind raced with questions about my rights, about the "US DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES" guidelines I'd vaguely heard of regarding family leave. It's a confusing landscape when you're already exhausted and navigating new motherhood. But as the initial shock subsided, a different feeling started to emerge. A sense of quiet liberation. The original post mentioned, "God works in mysterious ways," and I truly believe that now. This forced departure from my job, while painful at first, became an unexpected blessing. It gave me the push I needed to fully embrace content creation, something I'd always dreamed of but never had the time or courage to pursue wholeheartedly. More importantly, it meant I could be truly present for every single "First dentist appointment," every giggling moment, every tiny milestone with my children. While Millie had her appt an hour after, the joy of not having to rush back to a demanding job, of simply being there for "Your Baby," is truly priceless. The thought of missing those irreplaceable early moments just to fulfill a corporate obligation now seems unthinkable. To any mom facing a similar unexpected career shift or job loss, especially during such a delicate time, know that you are not alone. It's okay to feel angry, sad, and scared. But also know that sometimes, a closed door opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Take time to grieve, then re-evaluate what truly matters to you. Could this be an opportunity to chase a passion, spend more time with your family, or sculpt a career that truly fits your life? For me, it's been about reclaiming my time and focusing on the growth of my content and, most importantly, the growth of my children. It’s hard, yes, but the freedom and fulfillment I’ve found are worth every bit of that initial heartache.
