my favorite places to visit in maryland
i’m currently living in texas for my husbands job, but i was born and raised in maryland! this state has our hearts and we can’t wait to move back. here are our favorite places to visit when we’re home!
1) inner harbor in baltimore, maryland - baltimore is our city and we LOVE it there! from ravens and orioles games, great places to eat (my favorite is underground pizza co), and more, there’s so much to do! the inner harbor has been the backdrop to some of our favorite times: running the baltimore marathon, visiting the german christmas market every year, you name it.
2) the national aquarium - also located in the inner harbor, but it is one of our absolute favorites. i can’t count how many times i’ve been. from school field trips growing up, dates with my husband when we were in high school, to family outings with our kids. it’s somewhere that doesn’t get old for us no matter how many times we’ve been
3) swallow falls state park - my favorite state park! every year we go with a ton of family and hike the trails and swim in the water. there’s 3 waterfalls and the biggest one you can even climb behind and jump through!
4) ocean city, maryland - i went to college close by and spent so much time here! the boardwalk is filled with amazing food (thrashers fries is a necessity), cute shops, and rides. when the water warms up in the summer it’s a great place to swim
5) deep creek lake, maryland - my favorite place on earth. we spend a week here every year and it’s my favorite week of the year! kayaking, tubing, boating, jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, paddle boarding - there is so much to do! and the sunsets are out of this world.

Don't forget your camera to capture the lush green trees and rocky terrain. And for beach lovers, Ocean City, Maryland, is an East Coast gem.
