my unpopular opinions - motherhood edition
my unpopular opinions about motherhood!
i do not love the newborn phase 😅 they’re so cute and i love the snuggles, but that’s about the only thing i love. toddler stage is my absolute favorite! my husband does not agree with me on that
i loveeeee starting solids with my kids. almost every second time+ mom i’ve spoken to absolutely hates starting solids. it’s more to clean, more to do, sooooo messy. but i think it’s so fun! i love seeing them try new foods and figure out their favorites.
sleep training was a god send. so many people are anti-sleep training (and i totally understand why!) but for us it helped our baby and us sleep so much better and be so much happier. our son was sleeping 12 hours overnight without waking by 4 months, our daughter will be 4 months in a few weeks and she’s also finally starting to sleep through the night as well!

Motherhood is filled with a myriad of opinions and approaches. Many parents find themselves overwhelmed by the newborn phase, often citing the fatigue and challenges as reasons for their struggles. While some parents relish the adorable aspects of this stage, such as snuggles and first smiles, others, like myself, find greater joy in the toddler phase. The toddler years bring a sense of adventure, with children exploring the world around them and developing their personalities. Starting solids is another hot topic amongst parents. Contrary to the belief that it is a messy and burdensome task, I’ve found it to be an extremely rewarding experience. Watching babies discover new tastes and textures is not just entertaining; it fosters parent-child bonding and encourages healthy eating habits early on. Sleep training is often met with division among parents, with some advocating strongly for it while others dismiss it entirely. For my family, sleep training represented a turning point, greatly improving our quality of life. Our son experienced significant improvements in his sleep patterns, and now our daughter is on the same promising journey. The common narrative surrounding sleep training overlooks its potential benefits, which can lead to happier, well-rested families. Ultimately, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to motherhood. Each parenting journey is unique, and embracing our preferences—whether that pertains to phases of childhood or methods like sleep training—can lead to a more fulfilling experience for both parents and children.

I can agree to everything !
