an essential sam’s club mom hack
our sam’s club trips are not complete without my son’s sam’s kid’s club card
every time we go to sam’s now he asks for his card and is SO excited to show it to the pharmacist and get his free treat!
since he knows he gets a little treat every trip, he’s a lot more patient, willing to sit in the cart, and excited for shopping!
we got ours from one of the employee’s at the store!

Building on the amazing Sam's Kids Club Card tip, I wanted to share a few more strategies that have completely changed our Sam's Club (and even Costco!) trips with little ones. That FREE Kids Club Card, which you can easily grab from an employee, is truly a game-changer for getting a free treat from the *Optical or Pharmacy*. My little one's face lights up at the thought of getting a lollipop or other goodies! It makes them so much more cooperative in the cart. But what else helps when you're navigating those giant aisles with energetic kids? Firstly, timing is everything. I always try to plan our trips around their nap schedules and avoid peak hours if possible. A well-rested child is a happy shopper! Going right after breakfast or lunch when they're fed and happy often leads to a smoother experience. Secondly, pack smart snacks and drinks. Even if they're getting a treat at the end, having their favorite healthy snacks on hand can prevent meltdowns due to hunger. A water bottle is a must too! This also helps avoid impulse buys of sugary snacks in the store. Thirdly, give them a 'job'. Kids love to feel helpful! My little one loves holding the shopping list (even if they can't read it yet) or pointing out items we need. Sometimes, I let them pick out a fruit or vegetable, making them feel involved. This engagement is key to keeping them patient and interested. Fourth, make it a learning experience. We talk about colors, count items, or identify different foods. It turns a chore into an adventure and keeps their minds engaged. Now, about those membership cards – many of you might be wondering about using someone else's card, or how the Kids Club Card fits in. The Sam's Kids Club Card is specifically for the child to get their treat, tied to your primary membership. Generally, Sam's Club membership is for the account holder and their household members. While the Kids Club Card is a perk, it's not a substitute for a full membership for an adult. Always check with member services if you have specific questions about sharing memberships, but the key takeaway is that getting your own membership allows you to leverage all these amazing benefits, including the Kids Club perks for your children. Finally, to avoid overspending, which is so easy to do at warehouse clubs, I always make a strict list and try my best to stick to it. It’s tempting to grab all those bulk deals, but if it’s not on the list, I try to resist! Sometimes, I even set a small budget for "fun" finds, but outside of that, it's list-focused shopping. Planning meals for the week also helps ensure you only buy what you truly need. These simple strategies, combined with the magic of the Sam's Kids Club Card, have made our big shopping trips genuinely enjoyable rather than a dreaded task!

Why didn’t I know about this I’m gonna ask for one when I shop next time.
