weekend activities in the rgv

one of my favorite #weekendactivities in McAllen and surrounding cities in the RGV is visiting vendor markets! every weekend you can find several different markets around town filled with small businesses to support!

i love finding new small businesses to support and visiting our favorites! we love to find a sweet treat every time we go to eat while we browse. we’ve found gems like boutique baby clothes, home bakery treats, permanent jewelry, books, vintage t-shirts, handmade cups and bows, and more! they’re all pet and family friendly. we bring our two kids and we see lots of people with their dogs!

you can find these all over the rgv but some popular weekend market spots in hidalgo county are:

Each market features a diverse range of products, from handmade crafts to delicious baked goods, making it an ideal outing for kids and pets. In addition to small businesses, many local vendors offer unique items that showcase the culture and creativity of the area. Don't forget to check out specific market timings—like the McAllen Farmers Market on Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM and the Tres Lagos Farmers Market on the first Sunday of each month from 1 PM to 4 PM. Also, events at various parks, such as STX Markets and Thrive Markets, offer food, live music, and a cozy environment for relaxation. Make the most of your weekends by exploring these markets, enjoying fresh air, and treating your family to delightful new finds!
