perks of being a young mom 💚💜🩵

i had my first child when i was 22 and my husband was 23! now we are 25 and 26 with two kids and we absolutely love being young parents.

there’s a lot of good reasons to wait until you’re older to have kids (and i do believe that for most people it’s probably better to wait until you’re older) but there are perks that we have enjoyed as young parents as well:

• our kids grandparents are young and they will be in their life for a very long time! my parents are in their early 50s and my in-laws are still in their 40s! i’m so glad that my kids will be able to have their grandparents in their life for a long time and that they are still young and able to play with them and be very active grandparents!

• my husband and i will be 42 and 43 when our youngest graduates high school! we will be able to travel as empty-nesters in our 40s and will potentially be young grandparents ourselves!

• since we had kids before buying a house and settling down in one spot, our kids have gotten to experience living in different parts of the country! our oldest has lived in 3 different cities between 2 different states, and he’s only 3!

• they get to be present for fun family milestones that they otherwise wouldn’t have been around for if we waited to have kids later. my son got to experience his aunts wedding last year and his uncles wedding the year before that!

... Read moreBeing a young mom has its unique perks, as many parents are discovering in today's fast-paced world. One major advantage is the opportunity for children to have active grandparents. Young grandparents can engage in numerous activities, fostering strong family bonds and creating lasting memories. This is especially important in today's society, where family involvement can greatly enhance a child's emotional well-being. Moreover, young parents often find themselves at a prime age to navigate various life milestones together with their children. The early onset of parenting allows for a shared journey through school events, family gatherings, and weddings, offering children cherished experiences that can shape their upbringing. Travel is another exciting aspect. With fewer responsibilities and more flexibility, young parents can take their children on adventures, exposing them to diverse cultures and environments. Whether it’s weekend road trips or extended vacations, these experiences can foster a sense of curiosity and adaptability in children. Furthermore, starting a family early might enable parents to embrace their own interests and hobbies as the children grow older. As empty-nesters, they may still have ample time to pursue travel or other passions after raising their children. Thus, being a young mom not only enhances the parent-child relationship but can also pave the way for a balanced approach to life after parenthood. The joys of young parenting often lead to a unique blend of growth, learning, and incomparable family experiences. Sharing these journeys and insights can empower other parents, creating a supportive community among young families navigating similar paths.
