one of my favorite state parks to go to is Swallow Falls State Park in oakland, maryland!

🌲pets are allowed from labor day to memorial day, not during the summer (must remain leashed!)
🌲65 campsites available (make reservations online in advance!)

🌲 there is a 4 mile long catch and release fishing area
🌲picnic area and pavilion available
🌲sometimes they even have ice cream for sale in the parking area!
🌲sep-may: $3 per car w maryland license plate, $5 per car for out of state license plate
🌲 memorial day - labor day: $3/person for maryland residents $5/person for out of state residents

🌲there is a 5.5 mile trail connecting swallow falls state park with herrington manor state park (trail is also suitable for mountain biking)
🌲deep creek lake is nearby if you want to enjoy some boating, paddleboarding, jet skiing, etc. in the winter you can go skiing and snowboarding at wisp resort
