Episode 4 - Exchange Clause
It's been raining since the evening.
A drop of water hits the window glass of the office in a steady rhythm, while Lyn is still sitting in front of the computer machine in the small office beside the production line.
It's already two: forty.
But he can't go back yet.
Because Thir sent a message an hour ago.
Come up to me before returning
Briefly.
No explanation.
And there's no way to deny it.
Lyn took a long sigh before turning off the computer screen and got up.
The more time passed, the more he felt himself trapped in something.
Something that started controlling his life a little bit at a time.
-
The executive class is quieter than usual.
Many of the rooms have been turned off, leaving only a dim light along the corridor.
Lyn briefly stopped in front of the Super Manager's room before knocking gently on the door.
"Come in."
A loud falsetto from the inside.
He opened the door slowly.
Thir sat behind his desk as it were. Dark shirt folded his arms up to his elbows slightly. The tie was loosened. It looked a little different than a neat executive picture during the day.
But it looks more dangerous.
"Close the door."
Lin, follow quietly.
"Sit down."
He walked to sit on the couch, receiving guests, as the other person said.
A glance at a series of documents placed on the central table.
And when he saw the name of the document, his heart was cold.
Defect Report
Thir immediately noticed his expression.
"Stress?"
Lin mouth
"Why did you call me?"
The other party raised the coffee mug, sipped slowly before answering.
"I saved you a lot, Lin."
His breath is a little disrupted.
"Pull the report out of the system and talk to QA."
Thir, put the glass down.
"Do you know what will happen to you?"
Lin is quiet.
Of course he knows.
Was fired immediately
Could be investigated.
Or even harder, if the defect affects the client,
"I know."
Thir looked at him still.
"But you don't seem to understand your situation well enough."
The other side got up, walked in slowly.
The footsteps on the ground were so quiet that Lyn felt strange pressure.
Thir stopped in front of him before picking up the defect report file.
"These papers."
He spoke smoothly.
"Can make you lose your future in one night."
Lyn clenched his hands tighter.
"What exactly do you want?"
For the first time, he asked out directly.
The whole room immediately fell silent.
Thir looked at him for a while before chuckling.
"Finally dare to ask."
The other leans down a little. Put the file down next to him.
"I told you."
The low falsetto is too loud.
"I want you to listen to me."
"That's it?"
"Now... that's it."
The answer is even more uncomfortable to Lin.
Because he doesn't know what "now" will turn into in the future.
"After work tomorrow? Is it free?"
Lyn disrupted.
"Yes?"
"Come with me."
"Go Where"
"Eat."
He immediately remained silent.
"I don't think so."
"Lyn."
Thir gently called his name.
Not scolded
Didn't raise the sound
But instead, all the negativity disappeared from the mouth.
"You have no right to reject me since the day you signed that lot."
The heart is strong.
He immediately looked up to the other.
"Are you threatening me?"
A little still.
Before lifting a thin smile.
"No."
The answer is too soft.
"I'm just warning."
The atmosphere in the room fell silent again.
The outside rain continued to fall.
At the time Lyn began to feel herself slowly being cornered by the other.
"Why me?"
The question gently fell out.
Thir looked at him for a moment.
Those eyes were still so still that they couldn't guess anything.
Before answering slowly.
"Because you're interesting."
Lyn immediately frowned.
"I don't understand."
"You're not like everyone else."
Thir said smoothly.
"I'm scared, but I still like to fight me."
He raised his hands slowly.
Before gently tapping the finger under the chin, Lin.
"So I want to know..."
The fingertips are deliberately slow.
"When can you bear it?"
Lin's breath stumbled.
He immediately brushed the other hand off and got up.
"If you don't have a job, I'll be right back."
Thir looked at him still.
Before smiling some again.
"One p.m. tomorrow."
Lyn disrupted.
"I'll pick you up in front of the factory."
"I didn't say yes."
"But you didn't say no."
The tone is too confident.
Like knowing full well he had no choice.
Lyn bites his teeth tightly before taking his own bag and immediately walks out of the room.
But before the door was shut, Thir's voice came gently behind him.
"Lyn."
He's disrupted.
"Tonight..."
Lin looked back.
Thir was still sitting at the same place. The countenance was as calm as the kind man everyone knew.
But those eyes made him feel cold.
"Don't run away from me."
