Stepping into Singapore Changi Airport was an experience in itself! I’d heard so much about it being the world’s best airport, but actually witnessing its grandeur truly left me in awe. Even though my first visit was a whirlwind, I managed to capture some incredible moments and now I understand why it's often considered a destination rather than just a transit hub. One of the first things that struck me was the sheer artistry in its design. The large digital display walls, for instance, are mesmerizing. I saw one with a dynamic, purple-hued waterfall or cloud effect that felt incredibly immersive – it's like a living piece of art welcoming you. It absolutely elevates the entire airport experience, making even waiting for a flight feel special. Of course, no visit to Changi is complete without mentioning the HSBC Rain Vortex. It's truly a sight to behold! This massive indoor waterfall cascades from a circular opening in the glass-domed roof of Jewel Changi Airport, surrounded by lush greenery. It’s breathtaking and instantly makes you forget you're in an airport. I could have spent hours just watching the water fall, it's that captivating. It really reinforces why Changi earns its title as the best airport in the world. Beyond the natural and digital wonders, the airport is also home to fascinating art. I spotted a modern art installation featuring numerous copper-colored, teardrop-shaped ornaments hanging gracefully from the ceiling. It added such a sophisticated touch to the already impressive architecture. And for those who love to shop, the vibrant shopping areas are a dream! I walked past stores like LOTTE DUTY FREE and CHANEL, which were bustling with people. What caught my eye in one of these areas was the large circular blue carpet with white floral designs – it was so unique and added a touch of elegance to the retail space, definitely not your typical airport floor! Next time I visit, I'm absolutely planning to dedicate more time to explore. There’s so much more to see, from the various gardens to the diverse food options. It's clear that Singapore Changi Airport isn't just about getting from point A to point B; it’s about enjoying the journey and making memories even before you step out of the airport. If you ever have a long layover, embrace it – Changi offers so many 'placestovisit' right within its terminals that you won't be bored!
