YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Iโ€™ve visited quite a few national parks but this one is definitely different then most in California, the scenery is so different such as how it all sit in a valley and everything is flat traveling through the park, the first part is up and down but once you get past that the entire park is flat so if you get car sick easily this is definitely the park for you. It has a lot of water running through , lots of different waterfalls and tons of scenic views! Peak time for best weather and best views is March- August โ€ฆ Sep-February is nice due to snow but a lot of roads and trails are closed but definitely less people and less traffic! Yosemite National Park

... Read moreAfter my unforgettable trip to Yosemite National Park, I wanted to share a more in-depth 'brochure' of what to expect, especially for first-timers! It truly is a gem, unlike any other park I've explored, offering a unique blend of grandeur and accessibility. One of the first things I noticed, as I mentioned previously, is how uniquely flat the main Yosemite Valley is once you're past the initial descent. This characteristic makes exploring incredibly easy and enjoyable, even for those who get carsick! The parkโ€™s efficient internal shuttle system is fantastic for navigating without moving your car much, seamlessly connecting major viewpoints and trailheads. Many of the most iconic sights are easily accessible via paved paths, perfect for leisurely strolls or families with strollers. Youโ€™ll find yourself constantly looking up, awestruck by the sheer scale of the towering granite cliffs that majestically frame this incredible landscape. From every angle, there's a new panoramic view of Yosemite Valley to behold. The sheer abundance of water is breathtaking, creating countless waterfalls that truly come alive, especially during spring and early summer (March-August, as I touched upon!). Imagine standing close enough to feel the refreshing spray of a misty waterfall cascading down a rugged cliff face, or witnessing the majestic Yosemite Falls plunging thousands of feet from a massive granite cliff โ€“ itโ€™s an awe-inspiring sight that pictures barely do justice. Even in drier seasons, the tranquil sound of rocky streams winding through the dense evergreen forests provides a serene soundtrack to your exploration. Exploring the tranquil forest scenes was another highlight that truly connected me with nature. There are so many easy trails that weave through the tall evergreen trees and alongside small, calm streams, where you can find moments of peace and maybe even spot local wildlife like deer or various bird species, perhaps even a crow perched on a railing, observing visitors. I loved just taking in the fresh air and the profound natural beauty surrounding me, feeling dwarfed by the ancient trees and moss-covered boulders. For planning your own visit, remember that while March-August offers the best weather and full waterfall flow, itโ€™s also undeniably peak season. This means more people, and crucially, you might need reservations for park entry, especially during summer months, or for popular lodging options well in advance. If you prefer fewer crowds and a different kind of beauty, September-February is wonderful for its vibrant autumn colors or a peaceful, snow-covered wonderland, though some roads and higher-elevation trails might be closed. Always check the parkโ€™s official website for current conditions and reservation requirements before you go โ€“ itโ€™s like having an updated brochure right at your fingertips! Packing layers is essential, as mountain weather can change quickly from warm sun to cool shade, even within the same day. Don't forget sturdy, comfortable shoes for those paved paths and forest walks, and plenty of water for hydration. Yosemite offers an unforgettable experience for everyone, whether you're chasing the thundering spray of a waterfall, gazing up at the granite giants, or simply finding serenity in its deep forests. I hope these extra tips help you plan your own amazing adventure to this truly special national park!

As we slowly check off our NP checklist, Yosemite has to be one of our favorites so far. The drive was a little scary (Iโ€™m terrified of heights) but it was so beautiful at the same time! We plan on visiting again during a different time of the season ๐Ÿž๏ธ โ€”โ€” #yosemitenationalpark #nationalpa
