help me grow🥹
Hey everyone! 👋 You might have seen my initial post, but I'm truly looking for some advice and a bit of a pep talk. It's tough trying to grow on Twitch when you're just starting out. I mean, my profile screenshot (check it out, @mnc_ken!) shows I only have 3 followers and my last broadcast barely hit 19 views. It's disheartening when you put in the effort, only to see 'Last live 4 days ago' and not much progress. I’ve been asking myself, 'How can I get more visibility? What am I missing?' This whole journey has made me think a lot about where to best spend my time as a creator. I keep seeing people talk about different platforms, and the idea of 'Lemon8 vs. Twitch' has really been on my mind. Is it a competition, or can they actually work together? On one hand, Twitch is where the live action happens, where I can connect directly with people. But it feels like shouting into a void sometimes. How do you even get those first few viewers to stick around? I’ve tried to be consistent, but life happens, and then you see that 'Last live 4 days ago' and feel guilty. On the other hand, Lemon8 seems like a great place for sharing curated content, quick tips, and connecting with a different kind of audience. Could I use Lemon8 to help me grow on Twitch? Maybe I could post aesthetic setups, gaming highlights, or even share my stream schedule here. It feels less demanding in terms of live presence, and perhaps it’s a good way to build a community that might then hop over to my Twitch streams. I've also linked my Instagram and TikTok, but it's hard to tell what truly drives traffic. For anyone else grappling with the 'Lemon8 vs. Twitch' question, here's what I'm starting to realize. It might not be about choosing one over the other. Twitch is fantastic for building an intimate, live community around your passions, whether it's gaming, art, or just chilling. The challenge is discoverability. Lemon8, with its focus on visual content and lifestyle, could be an amazing discovery platform for streamers. Imagine sharing a 'Day in the Life of a Gamer' post, or 'My Top 5 Gaming Essentials,' and subtly promoting your Twitch channel within that. You’re reaching people who might not even be looking for a Twitch stream but are interested in the lifestyle around it. My plan now is to try and integrate them. Instead of viewing it as a rivalry, I'm thinking of how Lemon8 can serve as a bridge. For instance, I could share clips from my 19-view broadcasts (gotta start somewhere!) here on Lemon8, perhaps adding text overlays about what happened or why it was funny. Or maybe, I’ll share my pre-stream routines, my favorite snacks, or even a 'what's in my streaming bag' post. It's about giving people a reason to care before they click on a live stream. It's about showing the personality behind the @mnc_ken username. What do you all think? Have any of you successfully used platforms like Lemon8, Instagram, or TikTok to boost your Twitch numbers? Any advice on getting past those initial 3 followers and 19 views? I'm open to all suggestions to help me grow on Twitch!
