Marsh Creek Cherries
IT’S CHERRY SEASON 🍒 head over to Marsh Creek Cherries this weekend to fill a bucket, then your belly 😋 the orchard is very shady but I highly recommend sunscreen and hats, especially for the afternoon! Tons of low hanging fruit! Perfect for toddlers! Cash & Venmo! Brentwood
Okay, fellow parents and fruit lovers, I just had the best time at Marsh Creek Cherries in Brentwood, CA, and I HAVE to share! If you've been looking for a super family-friendly outdoor activity, especially if you have little ones, this is your spot. I went with my kids, and honestly, it was everything we hoped for and more from a U-Pick experience. First off, for anyone wondering about a 'young cherry orchard' vibe – this place is perfect for young families. Why? Because they have an abundance of low-hanging fruit, which means even toddlers can get in on the picking action without needing to be hoisted up constantly. It seriously lives up to the 'LOW HANGING FRUIT PERFECT FOR KIDS!' promise. My little ones felt so accomplished filling their buckets themselves. The orchard itself was surprisingly shady, which was a huge bonus, especially during the afternoon sun. Still, definitely pack sunscreen and hats, especially for the kids, as you'll be out there for a while having fun. We saw many families bringing wagons for their littles, which is a smart move if you want to make a day of it. What I loved about Marsh Creek Cherries is how easy they make it. There’s NO ENTRY FEE! NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED! You can just show up and start picking. It takes all the stress out of planning. You simply PAY FOR WHAT YOU PICK! At $4.50/LB, it feels like a fair price for fresh, delicious cherries and a memorable experience. They accept Cash & Venmo, which is super convenient. We were busy picking two fantastic varieties: Corals and Utah Giants. The Corals are wonderfully sweet and juicy, great for eating fresh right off the tree (after a quick wipe, of course!). The Utah Giants are larger and have a satisfying bite, perfect for baking or preserving. I’m already dreaming of cherry pie and homemade jam! Beyond the picking, it’s just a really wholesome way to spend time outdoors. The kids loved exploring, and it’s a great way to teach them where their food comes from. If you're in the Brentwood area and looking for things to do, especially during cherry season, make a trip to Marsh Creek Cherries. It’s truly a gem for creating sweet family memories. Just remember to bring your own water and perhaps some snacks to keep the energy up!
