Same $300 credit. A bigger hotel bill?

A hotel credit is nice, but how much are you spending to use it?

US Credit Card Guide reports that Amex may require two-night Fine Hotels + Resorts stays to qualify for the Platinum hotel credit starting January 1, 2027. Amex hasn’t confirmed the change.

The report concerns the credit, not a confirmed change to perks like breakfast or late checkout. The example in the slides excludes taxes and fees.

Still using your July–December credit? Make sure your eligible prepaid charge processes by December 31. Your stay can be later.
