5, Jln Austin Height 7/5, Taman Mount Austin, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Ta'zim, Malaysia
👍Why I like it
-different cuts of meat (6th slide)
-service is 💯
-promotion every wednesday
-many sauces to choose from (ponzu one was amazing)
DRIED AGED SIRLOIN 4/5 🤩
literally taste almost 70% the same as the A5 Wagyu steak i tried in Tokyo 🇯🇵!!! MUST GET 💯 Super tender and soft , i barely needed to chew at all 😅 Went insanely well with the ponzu sauce as well 💯
TENDERLOIN 2.5/5 😔
some of you may like it but tbh i think my standards for steak is abit higher ever since i tried the A5 Wagyu steak in japan LOL. I just find the dried aged sirloin like 3x better than the tenderloin. The tenderloin wasnt really that tender and i found it quite hard to chew…a little disappointing 😕
DRIED AGED DUCK BREAST 3.5/5 😝
This was honestly really good. They really cooked it to perfection. Just wish the sauce was more salty 😅 Highly Recommended for those who don’t take beef.
TRUFFLE MASH POTATO 3/5 😃
TBH this was really not bad but i think i compared the taste to poulet (bugis+ outlet) and the truffle taste in poulet was alot stronger compared to this one. Still worth to get it tho 😆
Overall experience 7.5/10
Thé ambience wasn’t as romantic as i thought it would be but definitely a must go at least once if you’re gg JB 💯 Also the coleslaw tasted really bad, u can try to ask them to replace it with something else 😂

From my personal visits to various steakhouses, I’ve found that the selection of sauces and meat cuts can truly elevate a meal. At TEMPER, the ponzu sauce complements their dry-aged sirloin wonderfully, adding a tangy yet umami-rich flavor that enhances the tender meat. This dry-aged sirloin stands out because it maintains a texture and richness similar to high-end Wagyu steaks I’ve enjoyed in Tokyo, making it a fantastic choice for those who appreciate premium beef.
While the tenderloin at TEMPER didn't quite meet the same expectations for tenderness, dining here offers a great chance to experiment with different cuts. For those less keen on beef, the dried aged duck breast is an excellent alternative—well-cooked and flavorful, although a slightly saltier sauce might please some palates more. Side dishes like the truffle mashed potatoes provide a satisfying complement, though if you love a strong truffle aroma, you might find it a bit milder compared to other places.
Besides the food, what stood out to me was the attentive service and the monthly promotions, which make dining more appealing and affordable. For anyone planning to visit Johor Bahru’s culinary scene, TEMPER is definitely worth a stop, especially if you appreciate a steakhouse that combines quality meats with a variety of sauces and a welcoming atmosphere. Just a heads-up—if you’re not a fan of coleslaw, you might want to ask for a replacement to ensure the best dining experience.
