Sudachi 9.5/10 🥰
-0.5 because i wish their portion was bigger. Literally cooled me down after sweating in this hot weather in singapore 🔥. Perfect for me because the cold soup is mix with citrus juice and I LOVE SOUR FOOD so 💯💯💯 !!!
Gyu Enokitake 8/10 😄
Price is quite expensive for a side dish but if ur sharing it with ur friends and splitting the cost, then just get it because the beef wrapped with enoki mushroom with the perfect sauce is just 🥹🥹🥹. They gave a number a of it as well
Kiwi Highball 5/10 😔

Do come earlier preferably before 630pm-best to come during weekdays. Weekends can get quite busy! Also their service is really good as well.
... Read moreIf you’re a true udon enthusiast like me, finding a place that captures the authentic taste of Japanese udon outside Japan can be a real challenge. Umai Artisanal Udon Bar in Bugis truly stands out with its carefully crafted dishes that deliver both texture and flavor.
One of the highlights that impressed me was how incredibly soft and tender the pork in their Miso Carbonara was. It’s almost like they’ve perfected a slow-cooking method that melts in your mouth, which is rare for pork served with udon. This dish alone is worth visiting for, especially if you enjoy rich, savory combinations.
Another standout is the Sudachi cold udon, which combines the subtle tanginess of citrus juice with a cooling broth that’s perfect for humid Singapore weather. The sour notes make it incredibly refreshing and light, ideal for those who crave something different from the usual hot noodle bowls. I do wish the portion was slightly larger, but its vibrant flavor made up for the quantity.
For sharing, the Gyu Enokitake — thinly sliced beef wrapped around enoki mushrooms — was a delicious side dish with a well-balanced sauce that compliments both beef and mushrooms beautifully. Although a bit pricey, when shared around, it’s a worthwhile treat for an elevated udon meal experience.
As for drinks, the Kiwi Highball might not be for everyone, especially if you’re not a fan of strong alcoholic beverages. But for those who enjoy a potent kick, this drink offers exactly that.
Visiting Umia early, ideally before 6:30 pm on weekdays, ensures a more relaxed dining experience as it can get busy during weekends. Plus, the friendly service adds to the overall pleasant dining atmosphere.
If you’re craving genuine Japanese udon or looking for a new favorite spot in Bugis, Umai Artisanal Udon Bar is definitely a hidden gem to check out.
