COSIEST JAPANESE FUSION CAFE 🍵✨🇯🇵

Honest Reviews Only

📍Cafe Gyoen Matcha Bar (right opposite picanhas)

🚆4 mins walk from Maxwell station

👍Why I like it:

-matcha cafe that actually sells good food

-quiet and cosy environment despite peak period

-good quality matcha latte 🍵

-they have options for those who dont take milk but like matcha like a strawberry matcha slushie 🍓🍵!!!

Wagyu Tataki Beef Teishoku Medium Rare 🥩 (4.5/5)

this was REALLY GOOD especially the beef and the onigiri 🤯 its one of their signatures as well so def a must get!

Creamy Mentai Udon 🍜 (3.5/5)

first mouth was really good but after awhile it got abit jelak so best to share w someone 😌 very creamy and def slightly better than most mentai udons ive tried before

Tiramisu cheesecake 🍰 2.5/5

umm idk why it taste bitter and sour and sweet at the same time. not very used to the taste of it so mayb thats why i dont really like it but its still decent for a cake! Worth to try!

Matcha milk cloud latte 🍵 4.8/5

this was REALLYY GOOD!! im someone that LOVE the creamy kind of matcha and slightly sweet so this was perfect for me! I could taste the matcha and the creaminess of it so 💯👍🏻 Def must get

make sure to reserve this cafe online 😇

Overall experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

... Read moreIf you're curious about Cafe Gyoen Matcha Bar's menu beyond the highlights, let me share some tips from my visit. The Wagyu Tataki Beef Teishoku is definitely worth its $29 price tag, featuring tender medium-rare beef paired with onigiri that balances the rich flavors. For fans of creamy dishes, the Mentai Udon at $17.90 stood out with its rich texture, though it's best enjoyed by sharing to avoid the richness becoming overwhelming. Beyond these, the cafe offers an exciting range of matcha beverages, including the unique strawberry matcha slushie that's great for those avoiding dairy but craving matcha freshness. The Matcha Milk Cloud Latte ($8.50) stole the show for me personally—the perfect blend of creamy sweetness with authentic matcha bitterness. Their carefully curated menu highlights some specialty offerings such as the Matcha Affogato and various latte flavors like hazelnut and goma (black sesame), demonstrating their creative fusion approach. The cafe also offers limited daily portions of specialty items like their burnt cheesecake and koicha milk cloud drinks, so reserving a spot online is a good idea to avoid missing out. If you enjoy exploring matcha varieties, Cafe Gyoen provides a mini matcha guide to customize your drink with options like oat milk and vanilla syrup, giving you a tailored experience. Overall, this cafe delivers a relaxing ambiance to savor Japanese fusion delights in Singapore, making it a great destination for foodies and matcha enthusiasts alike.
