It’s wild to even say this, but I’m honestly disappointed in Dr. Umar. A man who’s been so loud about uplifting Black kings and queens—yet can’t even show up for his own daughters? That don’t sit right with me.
I’ve had a lot of respect for him and his message, but you can’t be out here preaching Black excellence and not living it behind closed doors. How you gon’ talk about saving the Black family when you not even present for your own?
Being a father is more than DNA. It’s about presence, protection, and pouring into your children. Especially your daughters. How can we break generational cycles if we’re repeating the same wounds?
I’m all for the movement, but I’m even more for accountability. Real kings show up. Period.

Instilling values of loyalty, responsibility, and love in children will help build a stronger foundation for their future. Dr. Umar and his message never seemed authentic or genuine to me. He seems extremely misogynistic, borderline hotep and desperate for attention. The schools he’s raised money for never came to be and he talks down on people so this daughter hoopla didn’t surprise me.
