Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little more about my wonderful friend, Marty the donkey, who many of you have asked about. He's not just a farm animal; he's truly a cherished member of our family, bringing so much joy, laughter, and a surprising amount of wisdom to our daily lives. Getting to spend time with Marty is one of the highlights of my day, every single day. Marty has such a distinctive personality. He’s incredibly gentle and curious, always sniffing around to see what new things are happening on the farm. But don't let that fool you – he's also got a wonderfully stubborn streak, typical of many donkeys! If he's decided he doesn't want to move or if he's set his sights on a particular patch of grass, good luck trying to persuade him otherwise. It's part of his charm, and I wouldn't have him any other way. His soft, expressive eyes just melt my heart, especially when he's looking for a scratch behind the ears. Our mornings often start with Marty braying a friendly 'hello' from his pasture, eager for his breakfast. After he's had his fill, we usually spend some time grooming. He absolutely loves a good brushing, especially on his back, and will lean into it with a contented sigh. It's a great bonding experience for us. Then, it's off to explore his paddock or sometimes, if the weather is nice, a leisurely walk around the property. Marty loves to observe everything, from the birds flitting about to the changing colors of the leaves. He’s always teaching me to slow down and appreciate the small moments. One of the funniest things about Marty is his playful side. He’s much more agile than you might expect, and occasionally he gets a burst of energy, galloping around the field with his ears flopping. It’s such a heartwarming sight, reminding me of a big, happy puppy. He also has a particular fondness for apples, and the moment he hears the crinkle of a treat bag, he's right there, nudging my hand gently. It’s hard to say no to that sweet face! Living with Marty the donkey has taught me so much about patience, unconditional love, and the simple pleasures in life. He’s a comforting presence, a silent confidant, and a constant source of amusement. If you’ve ever considered adding a donkey to your life, I can honestly say it’s an incredibly rewarding experience. They are intelligent, affectionate, and truly unique creatures. Marty has enriched our lives in countless ways, and I feel so lucky to have him as my loyal companion.
