And for the truly ambitious 'developers' out there, especially those working with larger properties or looking for draft capabilities, the Mammoth Jackstock donkey is a magnificent choice. These are the giants of the donkey world, powerful and intelligent. While they demand more in terms of care and space, their strength and calm demeanor make them invaluable for heavy-duty tasks on a developing farm. I haven't personally worked with a Mammoth, but friends who have say they're incredibly rewarding partners once you've built that trust. Choosing the right breed really comes down to what you're developing – whether it's a calm sanctuary, a working farm, or just a new chapter in your life. Each breed has its unique charm and needs.
