When Healing Starts to Feel Like Pressure
After reading so many self-help books and attending workshops, I thought I was doing everything “right.”
I journaled. I meditated. I tried to stay positive.
But eventually, I noticed that healing started to feel like pressure. Like I was chasing peace the same way I used to chase perfection.
The more I tried to silence my fears, the louder they got.
So I gave myself permission to pause instead — to process what I felt, not perform how I “should” feel.
Here’s what helped me:
🍋 Asking, “Is this thought helping or hurting me right now?”
🍋 Letting emotions move through instead of labeling them “bad.”
🍋 Remembering that peace isn’t earned — it’s allowed.
If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this:
You don’t have to force your healing to prove you’re okay.
You just have to honor where you are and let that be enough.
🥹 Have you ever felt like healing became another to-do list instead of a release?

I couldn't agree more with you! It's normal to have stress, and I always try to control it, but the more I try, the more irritated I become.
