Snowboarding at the World’s Largest Indoor Ski Centre 🏂❄️

9/18 Edited to

... Read moreHaving spent a solid 7 hours learning snowboarding at Huafa Qianhai Snow World, I can honestly say it’s one of the most unique winter sports experiences you can have in a city like Shenzhen. The biggest challenge for me initially was adapting to the indoor environment—the snow feels different and the space is contained compared to outdoor slopes, but that’s part of what makes it special. The instructors are patient and knowledgeable; my sessions focused on basics at first, gradually moving towards more complex movements like S-turns. Despite being beginners, many of us found the learning curve rewarding because of the structured guidance. Plus, the lounge area at the top of the ski zone provided a perfect spot to rest and watch others practicing, which kept the atmosphere vibrant. The facility impresses not only with its size—boasting the world’s largest snow world—but also with its unique amenities like the diving hall, which offers a fun twist to your visit. The snow conditions are well-maintained, allowing for smooth rides even for those still getting the hang of balance and control. For anyone interested in indoor skiing or snowboarding, Qianhai Snow World is an excellent destination to escape the usual city heat and experience winter sports year-round. It’s great for individual learners and groups alike, ensuring everyone gets a chance to improve and enjoy themselves regardless of skill level. As someone who was exhausted but thrilled after the two-day 7-hour training, I can vouch that the no pain, no gain approach really pays off here! If you're in Shenzhen or planning a visit, consider adding this incredible indoor ski centre to your itinerary. Whether you're a beginner or looking to brush up on skills, Qianhai Snow World offers a refreshing and exciting way to enjoy snowboarding any time of the year.

5 days at japan’s coziest ski town 🏂♨️🇯🇵
Nozawa Onsen had been on my radar for a while, and I’m so glad we finally made it happen! Nestled in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture, this quaint little town is a rare combo of solid ski slopes and an onsen culture that dates back to the Edo period. We were there for 5 days in December, and it h

This isn’t a travel checklist. It’s the gear that actually keeps you warm, protected, and learning instead of hurting. Thermal layers. Waterproof shell. Protective padded shorts. Knee and wrist guards. Helmet, goggles, balaclava. Pack smart. Ride better. What’s the one thing you forgo
