It’s powerful to think that God declares creation as 'very good,' which surely includes us as part of that creation. For me, it’s been a journey learning to believe that I am valued beyond my flaws or the labels the world sometimes assigns. When I struggle with feelings of insecurity—whether about my appearance, abilities, or even my role as a parent—I find comfort in this passage and the reminder from Ephesians 2:10 that we are God's handiwork, crafted carefully with intention. This perspective has helped me to reframe challenges like health issues or parenting doubts, seeing them not as failures but as part of a bigger story where God can bring about good. I also recall moments when I just stopped to admire a beautiful piece of art and felt awe at the creator’s skill and vision. Imagining God’s awe as He looks at each of us helps me to value myself more and to respond with gratitude rather than doubt. If you’ve ever questioned your worth or struggled with feeling unseen, Genesis 1:26-31 invites you into a space of acceptance and hope. Knowing you are 'very good' in God’s eyes can inspire us to approach life’s hurdles with confidence and love—not only for ourselves but for those around us. Let this passage be a source of encouragement to cherish who you are, just as God does.
