Double Keychain
Well I was bored today and a little too hot to be outside... So I decided to do some sewing of sorts... I decided it was time to retire my keychain, which I initially made from a dog leash... I got the dog leash at a local dealership years ago... I cut it in half and saved the other half, for future use that time came and went... So I wanted to get a new leash but, couldn't find one... I got the idea in my head to make one, since I had most of the supplies from 2 other craft projects I did... I made a double keychain of sorts, to carry my mess around on... The reason for a double keychain was, to separate the mess a bit 🙂... I was able to salvage the clip from the old keychain, which was a plus...
Crafting with recycled materials not only helps reduce waste but also allows for personalized and creative projects. A double keychain is a practical solution for those who want to keep their keys organized without fuss. By repurposing old leash materials, as shown in this article, you can create a functional accessory that showcases your craft skills. Here are some additional considerations when making your double keychain: 1. **Material Choice**: Look for durable materials such as fabric, rope, or metal clips from old keychains or other household items. The sturdiness of the keychain is crucial for everyday use. 2. **Design Ideas**: Consider customizing your keychain with unique fabrics or patterns that reflect your personal style. You can add charms or beads to make it even more interesting. 3. **Measurements**: Keep in mind the length and width of the keychain when cutting materials from your old leash. Ensure that the double keychain is comfortable and practical. 4. **Functionality**: Think about how you’ll use the keychain. A double keychain can help you organize your keys based on usage, color-code for family members, or even separate keys for different activities. 5. **Sewing Techniques**: If you’re new to sewing, look up beginner-friendly tutorials online to perfect your skills. Reinforcing the stitching will ensure your keychain lasts longer.
