so i volunteer at the radio station i used to work at when i was a student, 90FM! they’re an alternative radio station designed to play deep cuts from popular artists and more underground/unknown releases as well as local music and specialty shows from all sorts of genres!
my specialty show is called “the meow mix” and it airs every monday from 10PM-12AM. i play hyperpop, edm, and dance pop. these are some of my favorite genres and music i grew up with so i pitched the show to the program director at the station and got a timeslot to play whatever music i want for two hours a week!
some of the artists i play are: madeon, porter robinson, cash cash, charli xcx, underscores, glaive, ericdoa, and more!!
i also do some yapping on the air, spin some vinyl, and also just play some joke songs sometimes like i once played a nightcore version of higher by creed 😭
it’s just kinda a goofy and fun and unique thing i do that i wanted to share because it’s really cool! and because i got involved in college and met most of my best friends and even my partner through the station!

My show, 'The Meow Mix', is not only a reflection of my musical journey but also a platform for emerging artists in hyperpop and EDM.
As a DJ, I curate playlists that include tracks from artists like Madeon, Porter Robinson, and Charli XCX, ensuring a rich auditory experience. I enjoy spinning vinyl records and engaging audiences with light-hearted commentary that makes each broadcast feel personal and fun.
I often mix in unexpected song choices, bringing a playful vibe to the show—like the time I played a nightcore version of a classic hit. It's this unique blend of creativity and passion for music that drives my work. Music has also been a gateway for me, helping me forge incredible friendships and even a romantic connection during my college years at the radio station.
In addition to the music, I also navigate the technical side, from using CD players to managing playlists in our current rotation, which showcases new releases and ensures that fresh sounds resonate throughout the airwaves. This close-knit community at 90FM continues to inspire me, reinforcing the idea that music truly connects us all.
Congratulations! Is there a way I can listen with my phone or is it just the radio?
