how i found out i was PREGNANT?!
A week or two leading up to when i took the test i was having suspicions but every time i do it ends up being just my anxiety freaking me out, it apparently wasn’t that this time lol!
i was 2 weeks late for my period but it has never been regular so i didn’t think much of that “symptom” of pregnancy, looking back maybe two weeks was a bit long lol
some other symptoms i had that made me want to test was:
🩵overly emotional (especially about my partner)
🩵sore & swollen mommy milkers
🩵peeing more often
🩵nausea

Finding out you're pregnant is such a whirlwind! After sharing my own experience with those initial symptoms and finally taking that positive digital pregnancy test, I wanted to dive a little deeper into what else you might expect in those very early weeks. Sometimes, we wonder if we're just overthinking things, but those early pregnancy symptoms can be very subtle and easily mistaken for something else, like PMS. Beyond the emotional sensitivity and nausea I mentioned, many expecting moms also experience extreme fatigue—like hitting a wall mid-day! You might also notice a heightened sense of smell, suddenly finding certain odors unbearable, or even a strange metallic taste in your mouth. Some people even report vivid dreams or a persistent headache. These 'first day' or '5 days pregnant symptoms' are often your body's way of telling you something big is happening, even before a missed period. One of the questions I often get is, 'How do I know I'm pregnant without a test?' While a pregnancy test is the most reliable way to confirm, paying close attention to your body can give you clues. Implantation bleeding is a big one to look for. This usually happens 10-14 days after conception when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine wall. It's often lighter than a period, pinkish or brownish, and lasts only a day or two. It's easy to confuse with a light period, but if you're experiencing other symptoms like breast tenderness or frequent urination, it might be worth investigating further. For those of us who love to track everything (like me!), apps can be a lifesaver. I personally found the Flo app incredibly helpful for tracking my cycle and then transitioning to tracking my pregnancy week by week. It’s amazing to see the illustrations of how your little one is developing! My Flo app even showed me I was '5 weeks, 6 days pregnant' which was so exciting to see after that positive digital test. It helps you anticipate 'what to expect pregnancy week by week' and keeps all your symptoms in one place. And when you get that first ultrasound, it's truly magical! My 'first ultrasound' around '6 weeks 4 days' showed a tiny little flicker – which was the heartbeat! At this stage, you'll often see the 'yolk sac', which provides nourishment to the embryo before the placenta fully forms. It's incredible how much growth happens so quickly. While you won't typically see '1 week pregnancy pictures' of an embryo, these early scans are vital for confirming viability and dating. It's also interesting how some people experience what's called a 'cryptic pregnancy,' where they don't realize they're pregnant until very late, or even until labor! While rare, it just goes to show how varied pregnancy experiences can be. Eventually, around '3 months pregnant,' you might start to see a tiny bump, but everyone's body is different. Just remember, every journey is unique, and listening to your body and getting confirmation when you suspect pregnancy is key!
