Malcolm’s UNPLANNED Birth Story 😟
At 38weeks pregnant I was having my last OB appointment where they told me I needed to be induced asap due to my low platelets and babies positioning.
I was so unprepared honestly but also so excited to meet him.
Of course I was so anxious throughout the whole process and praying for my baby to come out perfectly healthy even if it meant I needed to bleed more.
Once i got past the first hour of contractions from the pitocin I gave in and pleaded for the epidural lol it was way too much to handle.
I was in labor for over 24 hours dilating from 2cm-10cm but only pushed for 20minuetes (which felt like hours but also went by in a blink i can barely remember)
When he came out his face was red/purple and had the cord wrapped around his neck. I didn’t see this but i remember them taking him to the table before giving him to me (like i asked/planned) that minute i swear my heart was stopped.
Thankfully my ONGYN is literally the best in Hawaii (like actually) and saved me and my baby from what could’ve been a tragic ending
Malcolm and me thankfully both came home perfectly fine after all the anxiety and stress and were growing together so much everyday 🩵I love you Malcolm 🩵

The experience of giving birth can be as unpredictable as it is beautiful. Many mothers face unique challenges, especially during unexpected scenarios like induction. It's essential to educate oneself about the reasons behind such medical decisions. Low platelet counts can impact the safety of labor and delivery, making early intervention necessary. This is why discussing your birth plan with healthcare providers is crucial. In addition, the emotional aspect of an unplanned birth can be overwhelming. Many mothers share similar feelings of anxiety, fear, and excitement when faced with such situations. Connecting with other mothers through parenting communities can provide support and shared experiences that help ease the journey. Postpartum resources and support groups are invaluable in fostering mental well-being after birth. Furthermore, understanding medical terms and potential complications—such as the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck—can arm parents with knowledge that eases worry during delivery. Staying informed and advocating for your baby’s health is vital. Remember, every birth story is unique, and sharing yours can help others who are on the brink of similar experiences! Celebrate your journey and the love that surrounds your family. 💖
