Happy 5th Heavenly Birthday
5 years.
5 years ago you left my womb, the place you should’ve been safe.
5 years ago we cradled you in our arms, singing the only lullaby I would ever get to sing you.
5 years ago you were our Easter miracle, forever to remind us of the goodness and miraculous power of Christ.
5 years ago my heart shattered, never to be truly whole.
But, in those 5 years I have felt glimpses of you and this year I had what I consider my most reassuring moment. I always believed you were living on, serving God and teaching others about Christ in the spirit world.
A recent experience at the temple confirmed that to me. You ARE teaching others the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping join families. Your loss becomes bittersweet when I think of the ways you are serving others and my heart is overwhelmed to know of your higher calling.
Kimberlee and Trey know who you are and they talk about you. They were so excited to visit you and celebrate your birthday today. It was a beautiful day and we all love you more than you could possibly know.
Keep flying high my angel. I love you.

Every year, countless parents commemorate the birth of a child who is no longer with them, reflecting on the bittersweet nature of love and loss. Special birthdays, like a heavenly birthday, become times of remembrance and celebration, allowing families to feel connected to their loved ones. Incorporating rituals can enhance these moments, from lighting a candle to creating a space of reflection where memories can be shared. It’s essential to find supportive communities—online forums or local support groups—to connect with others experiencing similar losses. Sharing stories about your child can create a sense of connection and honor their memory in meaningful ways. Many parents find solace in expressing their feelings through writing, art, or even community outreach in their child’s name, be it through charitable donations or participating in awareness campaigns related to pregnancy loss or stillbirth. Such acts not only honor the child’s memory but also serve to help others navigate their grief. Engaging in activities that resonate with your child’s memory—whether it’s celebrating their favorite holidays or partaking in hobbies they might have enjoyed—gives a sense of purpose and continuity. As these moments are often tied to deep emotions, it’s crucial to allow oneself to grieve and celebrate in ways that feel authentic. Resources such as grief counseling may also offer additional support, guiding parents through personal journeys in remembrance and acceptance. Ultimately, recognizing the impact and love that continues to thrive even after loss not only uplifts the spirit but solidifies a unique bond that transcends earthly experiences. Through shared memories and ongoing love, we keep our heavenly children close to our hearts.
