The Web of Silence Duet review
Next on my completed reads is Leigh Rivers' Web of Silence Duet. I never heard of this author and didn't look at trigger warnings when I used my credits for this duet. Not going to lie....please look at trigger warnings before starting this, there is a taboo that some readers may find too uncomfortable to read through.
Book 1 - Little Stranger: I really enjoyed this book, the way she laid out the characters and moved the story along was soo good. I did find the shame and anxiety felt through the FMC to be realistic and disturbingly curious to read through. I liked the MMC and seeing them come together felt like it progressed as naturally as this taboo can. Overall, I give this book 4.25/5 stars.
Book 2 - Little Liar: So a lot of this book is a retelling of the first book in MMC pov. I did like how aware he was of himself yet unapologetic he was about his twisted love. I did like some of his perspective in that some of the moments the author chose to display show him in different lights, adding a layer I didn't see in the first book. One thing I didn't care for was how cheesy some of the content was, like Olivia still being how she was in her 20s and her mom's shenanigans, just felt too over the top soap opera to me. in the end, I give this book 3.75/5 stars. #honestbookreview #lastread #bookish #lemon8bookclub
