I’m Going Stay On The Battlefield For My Lord
Hey everyone! I wanted to share something that has been a bedrock in my life, especially when things get tough. You know how some days just feel like you’re in a spiritual — or even just a life — battle? For me, Psalm 140:7 has been my constant beacon of hope and strength. The verse says, “O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.” When I first truly understood what it meant for God to be the 'strength of my salvation' and to 'cover my head in the day of battle,' it was like a light switch flipped. It’s not just about a physical battle, but every single struggle we face – whether it’s heartbreak, financial woes, health issues, or just the everyday grind that can wear you down. This verse reminds me that I don’t have to face any of it alone. God isn’t just observing; He’s actively protecting me, like a shield over my head, keeping me safe from the blows of life. I remember one particular time when I was going through a really challenging period. I felt overwhelmed, and honestly, a bit defeated. My faith was tested, and I questioned if I had the strength to keep going. During this time, I often found myself in quiet prayer, wrestling with my fears. I recall one afternoon, my daughter, seeing me in a reflective moment, actually said, "My daughter wanted to stand up there with me." It wasn’t just her physical presence; it was her spirit, her innocent desire to be a part of my journey, to offer support in her own way. It reminded me that even in our personal battles, we are not truly alone, and our faith can inspire those around us. It also made me realize that by standing firm for the Lord, I was setting an example, not just for myself, but for her too. This verse became my mantra. It gave me the courage to 'stand up there with me' – to stand firm in my convictions and trust in God’s unwavering power. It transformed my outlook from one of fear to one of hopeful resilience. Knowing that the Lord is the strength of my salvation means I don't have to rely solely on my own limited power. His strength is infinite, and it's available to me through faith. And the promise that He covers my head? That’s pure peace. It means no matter how fierce the storm, I am divinely protected. It helps me to keep going, to stay on the battlefield, knowing victory is assured through Him. So, if you’re feeling like you’re in the thick of a battle today, I really encourage you to meditate on Psalm 140:7. Let its truth sink into your spirit. Remind yourself that God is your strength, your protector, and your shield. You are not alone, and you are not defenseless. He will cover your head. Just keep standing firm, leaning on His mighty power. It has made all the difference in my journey, and I truly believe it can for yours too.
