Healthy is not a diet..it is a lifestyle change😬

There is strength in vulnerability. It has taken me 36 years on this earth to realize this.

To make a very long journey short people say go back to the beginning, I ain’t got time for all that! This post isn’t about a specific number on the scale.. I told myself if I made it about a number I would go absolutely banana sandwich and tank right out the gate.

The picture on the left is from December 24th 2023. The right is from today. My doctor and me have been closely monitoring my blood sugar and every other thing under the sun. In January at age 35 my cholesterol was through the roof! ā¬†ļø My doctor called me and literally scared the hell out of me. I was at high risk for a heart attack. At 35!! With two boys who depend on me to be HERE. I cried. I sobbed. I was truly scared. And the only person to blame was me.

Today..well not today like a week ago if I’m being real, my blood work came back. ā€œA perfect blood panelā€ Not because I focused on a number on the scale but because I focused more on what was going into my body. I’m not skinny by any means..I’ll never be a size 0. And you know what THAT’S FINE!!

You know what I am though.. HEALTHY!! That matters to me more than any number ever could. Being here for my kids, my husband, and my family.. that matters. Start in your kitchen. The rest will follow. 🫶#summerbod #embracevulnerability #LoveYourself #Lemon8Diary #healthylifestyle2024

... Read moreEmbracing a healthy lifestyle means shifting your mindset from restrictive dieting to sustainable changes that prioritize your well-being. It's not merely about losing weight or hitting specific numbers; it's about nurturing your body through nutritious foods and positive habits. Start by assessing your daily meals: incorporate more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while reducing processed foods high in sugar and unhealthy fats. This shift can lead to significant improvements in energy levels, mood, and overall health. Moreover, regular physical activity plays a crucial role in maintaining health. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise weekly, which could include walking, cycling, or group classes. Not only does exercise enhance physical capability, but it also boosts mental health by releasing endorphins. Additionally, stay hydrated and ensure you get adequate sleep, as both significantly contribute to overall well-being. Support is vital during this transformation. Connect with communities or individuals who share similar health goals, which can provide encouragement and accountability. Share your experiences and struggles; this vulnerability fosters deeper relationships and can motivate others on their journeys. Remember, changing one's lifestyle is a gradual process; celebrate small victories along the way to maintain motivation. That way, you'll be well on your path to achieving lasting health and vitality, focusing more on how you feel rather than what you weigh.
