We often compare our lives to other people's paths.
Seeing him go further, more successful, something before us.
And the brain immediately concluded that
"I'm too slow."
But the truth is much easier than that.
Some are not better.
Not more gifted.
Didn't have more luck.
He just started before you.
And that he got to a point first.
It doesn't mean he'll reach the same destination as you.
Because life is not running on the same track.
It's a walk on a different map.
Some people have been out walking since morning.
Some people start late.
Some people just know where they want to go in the afternoon.
But if the direction is right,
People who start later still go further.
So the next time you accidentally think
"Am I too late?"
Let's change the question.
It's not.

But as
"Am I walking in my own way yet?"

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว ผมพบว่าชีวิตของแต่ละคนไม่ได้เหมือนกันเสมอไป บางคนเริ่มเดินทางตั้งแต่เช้า บางคนเริ่มสาย และบางคนอาจยังไม่รู้ว่าจะไปทางไหนเลยจนถึงตอนบ่าย การเปรียบเทียบตัวเองกับคนอื่นจึงไม่ใช่วิธีที่ดีที่สุด เพราะการเดินของแต่ละคนเหมือนการเดินบนแผนที่คนละใบ แม้ว่าจะเห็นว่าคนอื่นดูเหมือนนำหน้าไปไกล แต่จริง ๆ แล้วพวกเขาเพียงเริ่มก่อนเท่านั้น เคยมีช่วงเวลาที่ผมรู้สึกช้ากว่าคนรอบข้าง และคิดว่าคงถึงเป้าหมายช้าไปแล้ว แต่เมื่อกลับมาพิจารณาใหม่ พบว่าการเริ่มต้นไม่ใช่เรื่องน่ากังวลเท่ากับการที่ต้องเดินอย่างถูกทิศทาง หากเราโฟกัสที่เส้นทางของตัวเอง ชีวิตก็จะมีความหมายและความสุขได้มากกว่า จงเชื่อว่าปลายทางแต่ละคนจะไม่เหมือนกัน และไม่มีคำว่าสายเกินไปที่จะเริ่มต้นใหม่ ดังนั้น แทนที่จะถามว่าทำไมคนอื่นถึงไปถึงที่หมายก่อน ควรถามตัวเองว่าเรากำลังเดินในเส้นทางที่เป็นของเราจริงหรือไม่ เพราะนั่นเป็นกุญแจสำคัญในการเติบโตและความสำเร็จในชีวิต เราอาจจะยังมีเวลาอีกมากในการทำสิ่งที่อยากทำและไปถึงเป้าหมายของตัวเอง แม้ว่าเส้นทางของเราจะเริ่มช้ากว่าคนอื่นก็ตาม
